A number of initiatives are being implemented in Fergana District under government programmes to provide the population with clean drinking water and improve the quality of water supply and wastewater services.
In particular, under the “Vodiy Agro-Cluster” project, the approved plan for the comprehensive rehabilitation of water supply systems предусматривает the installation of 20.7 km of drinking water pipelines. As part of this project, work is underway in the territories of the “Boston” and “Hosilot” Citizens’ Assemblies (mahallas) to reconstruct deteriorated drinking water networks by laying new pipelines and carrying out installation works. The project also includes drilling one new vertical water well at the “Boston Water Facility” site. Trench excavation work is currently nearing completion.
Upon completion of this project, drinking water supply will improve for more than 15,000 residents living in six Citizens’ Assemblies located near the district centre.
In addition, under the “Participatory Budget” programme, 4.4 km of drinking water pipelines were laid and one water tower was installed on Hamsa Street in the “Qurilish” Citizens’ Assembly to improve the local water supply.
Furthermore, one second-stage pump supplied by the “Chimyon Water Facility” was installed to provide drinking water to residents of the “Ulugbek” Citizens’ Assembly. An additional 4.0 km of drinking water pipelines was laid through hashar, a community-based voluntary work initiative. As a result, more than 350 households, comprising over 2,000 residents, received access to drinking water for the first time.

The completed works included drilling one vertical water well, installing one water tower with a capacity of 25 m³, and laying 1.5 km of drinking water pipelines. As a result, approximately 200 households received drinking water for the first time.
In accordance with Resolution No. PQ-49 of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, dated 15 September 2026, concerning infrastructure improvements in mahallas classified as “challenging”, one vertical water well was drilled and 0.5 km of drinking water pipelines was laid to provide residents of Bepayon Street in the “Khur oba” Citizens’ Assembly of Fergana District with clean drinking water.

In accordance with the 2027 Programme for the Development of Social and Industrial Infrastructure, plans have been made to provide residents of the “Zilol” and “Satkak” Citizens’ Assemblies in Fergana District with clean drinking water.
Under this programme, the following works are planned for 2027 in the “Zilol” Citizens’ Assembly: drilling one vertical water well, installing one water tower with a capacity of 25 m³, and laying 3.5 km of drinking water pipelines. In the “Satkak” Citizens’ Assembly, the construction of a water facility and the installation of 6.5 km of drinking water pipelines are planned in accordance with the approved project.
As a result of these projects, 300 households in the “Zilol” Citizens’ Assembly and more than 500 households in the “Satkak” Citizens’ Assembly will receive drinking water for the first time.
