Buzrukov Lutfulla, Head of the Fergana Regional Department for Waste Management and Circular Economy Development, familiarized himself with the waste processing plant under construction in the Oqbilol mahalla of Fergana District.
The construction works at the plant were also inspected, with particular attention paid to compliance with occupational safety requirements and labor legislation.
At present, along with the construction of the plant, the necessary machinery, equipment, and spare parts are being delivered from China. Responsible officials were also given recommendations on their proper storage and careful placement.
The project has attracted an investment of USD 141.5 million from China’s “China Everbright International Ltd.” The plant is planned to have the capacity to process 547,000 tons of waste annually and generate 227.5 million kWh of electricity.
