Development of the “Shohimardon – Yordon” International Resort Zone Continues at a Rapid Pace

Large-scale efforts are underway in the Fergana Region to implement Presidential Resolution No. PQ–5 of January 12, 2026, “On Measures to Establish the Fergana Tourist and Recreational Zone.”
In accordance with the resolution, a permanent regional working group comprising the heads of relevant government agencies and organizations has been established to coordinate the development of the Shohimardon – Yordon year-round international resort zone.
In addition, a Shohimardon – Yordon Project Office has been established in the Shohimardon Mahalla Citizens' Assembly building with the involvement of qualified project specialists. The office is playing an important role in accelerating efforts to transform the area into a modern tourism destination.
Based on the master plan for the Fergana Tourist and Recreational Zone, specific development sites have been identified, and comprehensive infrastructure improvements are underway. These include the construction of pedestrian walkways, accessible facilities for persons with disabilities, bicycle lanes, modern street lighting systems, and other essential infrastructure.
Furthermore, land plots and buildings within the Shohimardon – Yordon area that have been occupied without proper legal documentation are being inventoried, and appropriate legal measures are being taken in accordance with current legislation.
Under the targeted instructions of the Governor of Fergana Region, the regional Department of Tourism is actively contributing to the project, helping elevate the region's tourism potential to a new level.
