Fergana District Officials Study Historical and Tourist Sites in Samarkand and Tashkent

A group of officials from various sectors of Fergana District visited historical monuments, pilgrimage sites, and modern tourist complexes in the cities of Samarkand and Tashkent to study best practices in the tourism sector.
During the visit, participants became familiar with the preservation of cultural heritage sites, their efficient use, development of modern infrastructure, and the creation of comfortable conditions for both local and international tourists.
They also exchanged experiences on introducing modern approaches to develop the tourism potential of historical sites in Fergana District and increasing tourist inflow to the region.
The study tour included visits to the Imam al-Bukhari memorial complex, the Mausoleum of Amir Temur, the Registan ensemble, the Bibi-Khanym Mosque, Hazrat Khizr Mosque, the Mausoleum of Islam Karimov, the Shah-i-Zinda complex, the Ulugh Beg Observatory, the “Samarkand City” tourist zone, and the “Eternal City” complex. Participants also familiarized themselves with the activities of the Center for Islamic Civilization in Tashkent.
