Ensuring public satisfaction, improving regional welfare, and enhancing living standards are key priorities for every deputy. The “Initiative Budget” system currently serves as an important and transparent mechanism for addressing local issues.
At the same time, there are neighborhoods that, due to objective reasons, failed to gather enough votes despite having serious social challenges. To identify such areas and find practical solutions, members of the Legislative Chamber conducted studies in Fergana district.
“Gulpiyon” mahalla
Located in a mountainous border area with Kyrgyzstan, poor communication infrastructure limited residents’ ability to participate in voting. A project worth 1.647 billion UZS to asphalt internal roads did not win. As a result, students commuting to Schools No. 50 and 36 still use damaged roads. Asphalt paving of a 3 km central road was identified as a priority.
“Qorasuv” mahalla
More than 2.5 km of roads on several streets require asphalt paving. Although 1.647 billion UZS was requested, the project may not be implemented due to insufficient votes. It was emphasized that road improvements directly impact daily life.
“Oqtom” mahalla
With 730 households, the area suffers from an outdated electricity system causing power drops. It is proposed to allocate 1.7 billion UZS for upgrading power networks and repairing 3 km of roads.
It was noted that projects that did not win under the initiative budget will still be addressed. The most urgent issues will be resolved step by step with the support of deputies and relevant state programs.
