Regarding the critical article stating that “funds were allocated for asphalt paving of roads in the ‘Satkak’ MFY area of Fergana district, but road repair works have not been carried out so far,” the Fergana District Hokimiyat provides the following official response.
This appeal was reviewed by a working group established under the district hokimiyat. During the review, it was found that to implement the requirements of the Resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan dated October 11, 2024, No. 665, a targeted program for current repair and asphalt paving of internal roads in 51 mahallas of the district was developed and approved by the decision of the Fergana District Council of People's Deputies on April 25, 2025.
The work is being carried out in stages. At stage 1, current repairs of internal roads in 18 MFYs were carried out. At stage 2, asphalt paving was completed in 32 MFYs. At stage 3, contracts were signed with relevant organizations to carry out asphalt paving in 29 MFYs.
Additionally, in November–December 2025 and January 2026, due to wet weather and temporary gas supply limitations at asphalt production enterprises, asphalt paving in some mahallas, including Satkak street of the Satkak MFY, was temporarily suspended.
It was found that companies winning the tender received funds as per contracts. However, due to weather and gas supply factors, asphalt laying was temporarily delayed.
Although this situation caused misunderstandings among some residents, to ensure road quality and long-term service, asphalt paving is planned to be fully completed by spring 2026 after normal weather conditions are restored.
As of today, February 26, 2026, the Fergana District Hokimiyat’s Department of Improvement completed asphalt paving of a 400-meter section of Satkak street in Satkak MFY.
