In Fergana District, consistent practical efforts are underway to ensure the efficient use of household land plots, provide employment for the population, and expand sources of income. In particular, the number of greenhouses in the area has been increasing year by year, and certain sectors have already become key “driver” industries.
Abdurasul Ahmedov, a resident of the Guzar mahalla in Fergana District, is one of such initiative-taking household plot owners. According to him, in recent years the local population has gained considerable experience in growing peppers, and this crop has emerged as a highly profitable area of production.
According to available data, harvesting has begun from seedlings planted in greenhouses in November 2025. A modern drip irrigation system has been introduced in the greenhouse established on an area of 18 sotix (0.18 hectares), which has a positive impact on crop growth and productivity.
Notably, the peppers grown in the mahalla are supplied not only to the domestic market but also exported abroad. This contributes to the efficient use of land resources. In this process, ensuring the high quality and safety of products, as well as full compliance with phytosanitary requirements, is a key factor.
Quarantine inspectors of the Fergana District Department of the Fergana Regional Plant Quarantine and Protection Authority regularly provide landowners with practical assistance and recommendations.
