Liability for air pollution during construction has been introduced

This is stipulated in the Law of the Republic of Uzbekistan "On amendments and additions to the Code of Administrative Responsibility of the Republic of Uzbekistan in connection with the establishment of mandatory requirements for eliminating the release of dust and sand particles into the air at construction sites", adopted on March 3, 2025.

For reference: This law was previously approved  by the senators of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis.

According to the law, failure to comply with mandatory requirements to prevent the release of sand and dust particles into the air at construction sites of 500 square meters or more, as well as in adjacent areas, entrances and exits, or exceeding permissible emission limits in these areas:

➖ Will result in a fine of 10 BCV (3 million 750 thousand sums) for officials.

If the same violation is committed again within a year after the initial administrative penalty:

➖ Officials will be fined 50 BCV (18 million 750 thousand sums).

The law will enter into force 3  months after its official publication.
