For information: The Russian program "Conversation about proper nutrition" is part of the Global Programme Framework "Healthy Children", which covers 85 countries of the world. In Uzbekistan, within the framework of this initiative, the "Health Routes" program has been implemented since 2013, which today covers more than 14- schools from all regions of Uzbekistan. In the 2024-2025 academic year, the organizers plan to launch the project throughout the country.
The conference was attended by representatives of the Federal Center for Additional Education of the Ministry of Education of the Russian Federation, the Institute for Child Development, Health and Adaptation of the Ministry of Education of the Russian Federation, the Federal Research Center for Nutrition and Biotechnology, the Center for Innovative Technologies of Astana and Almaty, representatives of the regions of Russia, and others.
Speaking at the event, the head of the Department of the Ministry of Ecology, Environmental Protection, and Climate Change, Zarrina Abdullaeva, noted the successful cooperation of the Ministry with the "Health Routes" program that began this year.
"In May of this year, an important decision was made to expand the "Health Routes" program and add a new vector to it—environmental education. This decision was a logical continuation of efforts to form a healthy and responsible generation that not only cares about their health but also actively participates in environmental protection. As part of this new component, lessons aimed at developing environmental awareness among schoolchildren were included in the program", stressed Z. Abdullaeva.
For information: in November of this year, a memorandum on the implementation of the Health Routes project was signed between the Ministry of Ecology, Environment and Climate Change, the Ministry of Preschool and School Education and "Nestle Food".
Speaking at the conference, Director of the Republican Education Center under the Ministry of Preschool and School Education Sherzodjon Xudaykulov told how Uzbekistan actively supports initiatives that contribute to the formation of a culture of proper nutrition, an informed attitude to the environment and health promotion of the younger generation.
"Uzbekistan, like many countries of the world, understands that the health of the future generation is the key to sustainable development of society. That is why the government of the country is actively implementing the Health Routes program, which combines educational and educational goals. Its main goal is to raise awareness among schoolchildren about the principles of healthy nutrition and environmental education. We strive to form the right habits in children, which will become the basis of their physical and emotional well–being", said Sh. Xudaykulov.
The conference included presentations by the project partners, discussions on the results of the 25-year program, contests, and trainings on proper nutrition.
"The Health Routes program is an excellent example of combining the efforts of private business, government agencies, and public organizations. With the support of the Ministry of Preschool and School Education and the Ministry of Ecology, we have achieved amazing results in Uzbekistan in just a few years. Because today all regions of the republic take part in the program and the number of students is growing every year", said Alexandra Makeeva, the author of the "Health Routes" program, Candidate of Pedagogical Sciences.
Concluding the conference, the participants stressed the importance of further expanding the initiative and its environmental component. They expressed confidence that the integration of knowledge about proper nutrition and environmental protection into the school curriculum contributes not only to improving the health of the younger generation but also to the formation of a responsible and conscious attitude towards the world around them.
