The program was initiated and implemented in Uzbekistan by Nestlé with the support of the Ministry of Ecology, Environmental Protection, and Climate Change, the Ministry of Preschool and School Education of Uzbekistan, and the Republican Education Center.
"Taking care of the environment is, first of all, the formation of a special ecological culture in society. This process should begin from an early age. It is important that even toddlers understand why they need to take care of nature. We are pleased to support the initiative aimed at promoting environmental values among the younger generation. We believe that in this way we are making an important contribution to building a sustainable and prosperous future of the country", said Deputy Minister of Ecology, Environmental Protection, and Climate Change Jusipbek Kazbekov.
To implement environmental education within the framework of the school program "Routes of Health", a special educational module has been developed, including interactive presentations for conducting classes in schools and methodological recommendations for teachers.
"The country's leadership pays special attention to taking care of the health of the younger generation and its environmental education. This task is very difficult and requires the consolidation of social forces and the active participation of society. We are very pleased that business does not stand aside in solving important social problems and comes up with such significant and useful initiatives that can make a significant contribution to promoting a culture of health in society and a responsible attitude to the environment", said Sherzod Xudoykulov, director of the Republican Education Center under the Ministry of Preschool and School Education.
In addition to eco-lessons, the organizers of the project plan to hold additional events for children, parents, and teachers, involving them in real activities related to caring for nature.
"For Nestlé, school education programs are an important component of sustainable development commitments. They extend to people, their families, and pets, as well as to communities and the planet. All educational projects are integrated into the global initiative “Nestlé for Healthier Kids”, which aims to help 50 million children around the world lead a healthier lifestyle by 2030. And the Health Routes project in Uzbekistan is also aimed at forming the foundations of ecological culture among children and adolescents, awareness of the importance and necessity of caring for the environment, readiness, and ability to take care of nature", said Sergey Lisyuk, CEO of Nestlé in Uzbekistan.
For information: In the 2023-2024 academic year, the Health Routes program covered over 35 schools from six regions of Uzbekistan – Andijan (Andijan), Bukhara (Bukhara), Kashkadarya (Karshi), Namangan (Namangan), Samarkand (Samarkand), Ferghana (Ferghana), as well as the Republic of Karakalpakstan (Nukus) and Tashkent.
