Green University became the winner of the international climate competition

"The victory of the project in such a large-scale competition is a confirmation of its uniqueness and importance in providing the entire Central Asian region with highly qualified personnel in the field of environment and climate change. The Green University, founded on the initiative of the head of our state, pays great attention to finding solutions to urgent environmental problems in the Central Asian region, in particular climate problems", said Aziz Abdukhakimov, Minister of Ecology, Environmental Protection, and Climate Change.
Competition was organized by the Agency for Strategic Initiatives in cooperation with the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC). The award ceremony was attended by Deputy Prime Ministers of the EAEU countries and members of the EEC jury.
"Each community should work together, sharing knowledge, developing new technologies, and implementing solutions with real added value for the economy. This is exactly what the laureates of the Green Eurasia competition are doing, offering real transformations that can be scaled to achieve even greater effect. The UN Framework Convention on Climate Change welcomes your work, as well as the contribution of the EAEU member states to the global climate agenda. Thank you for setting an example to follow. Thanks to this, we are moving towards a more sustainable and prosperous world", Simon Steele, Executive Secretary of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change, stressed in his video message to the participants of the competition.
In 2024, the competition received over 300 applications from 12 countries. The winners and finalists included 57 best climate practices from the Republic of Uzbekistan, the Republic of Belarus, the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Kyrgyz Republic, the Russian Federation, the Islamic Republic of Iran, the Arab Republic of Egypt, and the Republic of Indonesia.
