About Bo‘ston District
Bo‘ston District (known as Bo‘z District from 1950 to 2019) is a district of the Andijan Region of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
The district was established on April 5, 1950. On December 24, 1962, it was merged into Shahrixon District. It was re-established on December 31, 1964. On September 30, 2019, the name of Bo‘z District was officially changed to Bo‘ston District.
Bo‘ston District borders:
- Ulug‘nor District to the north and northwest;
- Baliqchi District to the north;
- Shahrixon District to the east;
- Yozyovon District of Fergana Region to the southwest;
- Qo‘shtepa District to the south;
- Quva District to the southeast.
The total area of the district is 0.20 thousand km².
The administrative structure includes 1 urban-type settlement and 25 citizens’ self-governing assemblies (mahallas). These include Guzar, Pillakor, Bo‘ston, Madaniyat and other mahallas.
The administrative center of the district is Bo‘ston urban settlement.
Population
The population of Bo‘ston District is approximately 81.3 thousand people.
The majority of residents are Uzbeks. Russians, Tatars, Kyrgyz, Tajiks and representatives of other ethnic groups also live in the district.

- Kyrgyz — 3.6%
- Tajiks — 1.0%
- Russians — 0.3%

The population density is 381 people per square kilometer.
Nature
The district is mainly composed of plains with numerous moving sand dunes.
The climate is sharply continental.
The average temperature is −4°C in January and 24–28°C in July.
Annual precipitation averages 200–300 mm, and the vegetation period lasts approximately 220 days.
Agricultural enterprises are supplied with water from the Great Fergana Canal, Great Andijan Canal, and Shahrixonsoy.
The soil is mainly gray and sandy-loam, making it suitable for agricultural production.
