An international training programme is underway in the Andijan region, focusing on the early detection of colorectal cancer, the wider adoption of modern endoscopic diagnostic techniques, and the professional development of medical specialists.
The programme is being implemented in collaboration with the Association of Oncologists of Uzbekistan, the Republican Specialized Scientific and Practical Medical Center of Oncology and Radiology, and Gustave Roussy International Uzbekistan Medical Center. As part of the initiative, practical colonoscopy workshops and scientific seminars are being held at medical institutions with the participation of leading specialists from the United States, the United Kingdom, and Uzbekistan.
The training sessions combine hands-on practice with advanced clinical expertise, with particular emphasis on modern colonoscopy techniques, thorough and high-quality examination of the colon, the detection of polyps and early neoplastic changes, the assessment of suspicious lesions, and improvements in the quality of endoscopic examinations. Complex clinical cases are also discussed with international experts, while opportunities to incorporate leading international practices into local healthcare are explored.
High-quality endoscopic examination plays a vital role in the timely detection and effective treatment of colorectal cancer. Integrating international expertise and modern medical approaches into clinical practice represents an important step towards achieving this goal.
The practical sessions and presentations held as part of the seminar will help strengthen specialists’ clinical skills, expand opportunities for detecting colorectal cancer at an early stage, and further improve the quality of cancer care provided to the population.
