On February 20, 2026, Nozimjon Kholmurodov, Director of the Agency for the Development of Light Industry under the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan, held a meeting with Mehmet Doğan, Chairman of the Board of DoCotton Group, one of Turkey’s leading agro-industrial companies.
The meeting was held based on a clearly defined “strategic agenda” focused on achieving practical outcomes.
Key areas of discussion included:
— the current status and next stages of implementing the agreements reached during the high-level visit to Turkey;
— the launch of a project in the Kashkadarya region covering 15,000 hectares for the cultivation of organic cotton and its deep processing in accordance with GOTS, OCS, Regenerative Agriculture (Renagri), and BCI standards;
— supplying finished products to leading global brands such as Inditex, Hugo Boss, IKEA, and others, as well as project proposals aimed at the sale of carbon credits equivalent to USD 420,000.
For information: Since 2021, DoCotton Group has been recognized as one of the world’s leading companies in organic cotton cultivation. The company’s cotton yield in Turkey ranges from 65–75 centners per hectare, and its production facilities are located in Turkey, Kyrgyzstan, and Tajikistan.
The company supplies 12% of Turkey’s total cotton imports; its annual turnover amounts to USD 500 million, with a net profit of USD 120 million. It is also ranked 466th in the FORTUNE 500 Türkiye list.
At the conclusion of the meeting, the parties agreed to establish a “fully integrated value chain” in Uzbekistan — from organic cotton cultivation to the production of high value-added finished goods — expand export geography based on international certifications, and develop long-term cooperation grounded in the principles of a “green” industry.
