Swiss Days 2024 in Tashkent: Quality, Innovation, and Reliability as Pillars of Sustainable Development

On November 23, Laziz Kudratov, Minister of Investment, Industry, and Trade of Uzbekistan, attended the opening ceremony of Swiss Days 2024, organized by the Swiss Embassy. Held for the third time in Tashkent, the event brings together over 30 Swiss companies under the theme "Switzerland: Quality. Innovation. Reliability." The initiative aims to enhance business ties between Uzbekistan and Switzerland while promoting culture, art, and education.
In his opening remarks, Laziz Kudratov highlighted the impressive growth in trade and economic collaboration between the two nations.
Trade turnover between Uzbekistan and Switzerland has doubled over the past five years, reaching $341 million in 2023. Currently, more than 100 Swiss companies operate in Uzbekistan. By the end of 2023, Swiss investments in the country amounted to $1.4 billion. Ongoing investment projects with Swiss companies, exceeding €400 million, span critical sectors such as pharmaceuticals, healthcare, renewable energy, construction, textiles, agriculture, and tourism.
Swiss companies were presented with promising opportunities for expanding the range of mutual trade, industrial cooperation in green technologies, renewable energy sources, sustainable resource management, innovations in healthcare and education, the introduction of advanced financial technologies, and developing cooperation in the pharmaceutical sector.
The Ministry reaffirmed its commitment to fully supporting Swiss companies operating in Uzbekistan.
Reference: Swiss Days is an annual event organized by the Embassy of Switzerland in Uzbekistan aimed at strengthening economic and cultural ties by showcasing Swiss innovation, reliability, and quality. The program includes interactive activities, thematic exhibitions, and business meetings. Masterclasses are designed for both government representatives and the business community.
