The state visit of the President of Uzbekistan to the Republic of Korea has not only opened a new stage in the country’s foreign economic relations, but has also significantly expanded opportunities for the regions, particularly Yangikhayot District, the youngest and one of the most rapidly developing districts of the capital.
Today, the strategic partnership between Uzbekistan and South Korea is based on cooperation in high technologies, investment, and industrial cooperation. The practical implementation of these agreements offers significant opportunities for Yangikhayot District.
In a short period of time, Yangikhayot District has developed into a major manufacturing and logistics center. Today, the district is home to:
-
hundreds of modern manufacturing enterprises, including facilities in light and heavy industry, construction materials, and processing;
-
the Yangikhayot Industrial Technopark, which provides foreign investors with a convenient site equipped with ready infrastructure;
-
transport and logistics hubs that provide significant advantages for directing products toward export markets.
South Korea is one of the world’s leading countries in high technologies, green energy, electrical engineering, and automated industry. The high-level agreements reached and strategic documents signed during the historic visit of the President of Uzbekistan can serve as a strong strategic driver for taking Yangikhayot District’s economic potential to a new level, modernizing industrial sectors, and comprehensively developing the district’s infrastructure.
The introduction of Korea’s modern energy-efficient and automated technologies at existing enterprises in the district can help reduce production costs and raise product quality to international standards. There is also significant potential for establishing enterprises in the technopark, jointly with Korean investors, to produce finished goods with high added value. The introduction of new technologies will contribute to creating high-income jobs for local young people in modern engineering and technological fields.
As a deputy of the Yangikhayot District Council of People’s Deputies, I would like to emphasize that our key task is to fully realize at the local level the wide-ranging opportunities being created under the leadership of the President. The agreements reached as a result of this visit can serve as an important foundation for transforming Yangikhayot District into an advanced industrial driver not only for the capital, but for the entire country.
S. Vafayev
Chairman of the Yangikhayot District Council of People’s Deputies.
