Penalties for violating rules on the use of electricity will be strengthened

According to the amendments to the Code of Administrative Responsibility, unauthorized connection to public electricity, heat or gas networks, as well as other violations of the rules for their use,
✅ will result in fines ranging from 15 to 20 times the Basic Calculation Amount (BCA) for citizens, and 25 to 30 times the BCA for officials.
✅ Under the current version of the legislation, fines range from 10 to 15 times the BCA for citizens and 20 to 25 times the BCA for officials.
🗒 Unauthorized connection to public electricity, heat, gas or water supply networks for commercial purposes
✅ will result in a fine ranging from 15 to 25 times the BCA or administrative detention for up to 15 days.
✅ Under the current version of the legislation, the fine ranges from 10 to 20 times the BCA.
According to the amendments to the Criminal Code, unauthorized connection to public electricity, heat, gas or water supply networks committed after administrative penalties have already been applied for such actions
✅ will be punishable by a fine ranging from 30 to 75 times the BCA, or up to 240 hours of compulsory community service, or corrective labor for up to one year.
✅ Under the current version of the legislation, the minimum fine is set at 25 times the BCA.
The law will enter into force three months after the date of its official publication.
