ANNOUNCEMENT
On December 23, 2025, at 11:00 AM, public hearings on the project for the construction of a nuclear power plant (NPP) in the Republic of Uzbekistan will be held at Cultural Center No.30 in the settlement of Bogdon, Farish District, Jizzakh Region.
KEY TECHNICAL PARAMETERS OF THE NPP
Total capacity: 2,110 MW;
Annual electricity generation: 16–17 billion kWh;
Share in Uzbekistan’s energy mix: 12–15%;
Operational lifetime: 60 years;
New jobs:
- up to 13,000 during the construction period
- up to 2,000 during the operational period
The general contractor for the NPP construction project in the Republic of Uzbekistan is Atomstroyexport JSC, the engineering division of the Rosatom State Corporation, which holds the world’s largest portfolio of export contracts for the construction of nuclear power plants.
The project provides for the construction of an NPP consisting of VVER-1000 and RITM-200N reactor units, which are considered among the most advanced nuclear power technologies in terms of safety.
