Naim AMONOV, Director of the Northern Mining Administration
Kyzylkum is a land that bears witness to the tireless efforts of workers in the mining and metallurgical industries. It is home to true heroes of perseverance and courage. Not only does this vast desert hide rich underground resources, but it also confronts its people with harsh and unpredictable natural conditions. Yet, the people of Kyzylkum have learned to overcome these climatic trials through knowledge and dedication.
At the heart of their determination lies a noble mission — to contribute to the development and prosperity of their Motherland. As emphasized by our esteemed President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, the selfless labor of miners and metallurgists, extracting gold and other minerals from the depths of Kyzylkum — now recognized on a global scale — plays an invaluable strategic role in ensuring our country's economic progress.
Indeed, just like in all other sectors, a completely new era has begun in the mining and metallurgy industry in New Uzbekistan.
As a result of the efforts carried out under the strategic development program of the plant for 2017–2026, the giant enterprise has risen to a level on par with the world’s major companies.
Thanks to the support of the Chairman of the Board – General Director of Navoi Mining and Metallurgical Combine, Kuvondik Sanaqulov, large-scale work is underway in the Northern Mining Administration to increase the pace of ore extraction and processing, commission new capacities, and modernize various units.
From the smallest industrial component to skyscraping technologies, from human resource development to the well-being of the local population where the mining department operates — all of these matters are under the direct attention and supervision of the General Director.
Truly, every initiative aims at ensuring the satisfaction and unity of a multinational workforce.
In particular, rapid and intensive preparations are underway for the 30th anniversary celebration of the first gold plant in independent Uzbekistan — Hydrometallurgical Plant No. 3.
The exterior facade of the plant building has been renovated, and a 900-seat service facility has been reconstructed. Construction and reconstruction works on the five-section cooling tower and sectioned cooling building have been completed, as well as the third stage of the waste disposal site (Phase III).
As you may know, the 7th and 8th blocks of the crushing workshop were launched last year.
These efforts to increase ore processing capacity have also significantly raised the demand for technical water.
To address this, the “Water Supply Project from Beshbuloq Reservoir to HMP-3” was developed.
It includes the construction of 3 underground pumping stations, 4 water reservoirs each with a capacity of 700 m³, and a 21-km long pipeline from Beshbuloq to the pressurized reserve tank. The project is progressing rapidly and is scheduled for commissioning in the second quarter of this year.
At the same time, construction and installation work is ongoing for the extraction and processing of gold-bearing ores at the Auminzo-Amontoy mines, as well as for the second phase of the waste map at Hydrometallurgical Plant No. 5, including road, transport, and engineering infrastructure projects.
Additionally, an administrative and management building has been erected at the Sharki mine; a dining hall, a modern 150-bed dormitory with amenities for workers at the Dovgiztov mine; and a mining auto garage repair site at the Turbay mine have been built and put into operation.
At the end of 2024, reflecting on the wise saying of Hazrat Navoi — “It is not easy to stand firm on this field!” — we stepped into 2025 with determination.
We bore the great responsibility entrusted by the plant management and the strong trust placed in the knowledge and dedication of the team of specialists.
The number of employees at the Northern Mining Administration increased from 8,000 to 14,000.
The new team means sharing the heavy burden of plans and working together to conquer challenges — in simple terms, unity as a clenched fist!
Although the plant’s units are located far apart and are multinational and numerous, a special trait of our giant, respected company’s employees is solidarity — standing shoulder to shoulder for the country’s cause!
Currently, the roughly 14,000 employees of the Northern Mining Administration are not separated by distance.
On the contrary, the sense of responsibility and accountability binds them together with the sweetness of new victories.
At the beginning of the year, the team demonstrated mechanical construction skills.
Their knowledge and experience, combined with round-the-clock responsibility, led to the commissioning of continuous uninterrupted technology at the Dovgiztov mine, the 9th and 10th modules of the bio-oxidation workshop at Hydrometallurgical Plant No. 3, and mechanical equipment at the Amontoy and Turbay mines.
Furthermore, based on the hard work, deep analysis, knowledge, and precise approach of the mining administration employees during the first four months of 2025, the planned indicators were achieved ahead of schedule.
