A press conference was held in Uchquduq District focusing on the development of the preschool and school education system, improving students’ knowledge and strengthening teachers’ professional capacity.
The conference, titled “Results and New Milestones in the Uchquduq District Education System: Priority Tasks for the 2026–2027 Academic Year,” presented information on the key measures planned for the new academic year.
In recent years, Uchquduq District has achieved significant progress in improving the quality of education and the professional qualifications of teaching staff. Whereas teachers holding the highest qualification category previously accounted for 1.5 percent, this figure has now reached 30 percent. The proportion of teachers in the first qualification category has increased from 5 to 26 percent. As a result, 56 percent of teachers in the district are highly qualified. These indicators place Uchquduq among the top ten not only in Navoi Region but also nationwide.
Currently, 389 of the 847 teachers working in the district’s general education schools hold international or national certificates. A total of 312 teachers receive additional salary allowances, while the monthly salaries of more than 100 teachers exceed USD 1,000.
Improvements in teachers’ professional qualifications are also reflected in student outcomes. The proportion of school graduates admitted to higher education institutions increased from 72 percent in 2023 to 90 percent in 2026. In addition, 286 students have obtained international and national foreign-language certificates. The team from School No. 7 in the district won first place at the national stage of the “Zakovat” intellectual competition held as part of the “Five Initiatives Olympiad.”
Positive developments have also been observed in preschool education. The preschool enrolment coverage rate in the district has reached 87.9 percent. At the nationwide “Best Preschool Educator of the Year” competition, G. Dauletova, an educator at Preschool Educational Institution No. 15, won first place, while Yu. Gaybullayeva from Institution No. 10 took second place. Yulduz Gaybullayeva was also awarded the “Shuhrat” Medal in recognition of her many years of dedicated service and contribution to raising the younger generation.
These achievements are the result of consistent efforts to improve educational quality, expand the pool of qualified teachers and develop the intellectual potential of young people in Uchquduq District.
During the press conference, Sevdiyor Sayfiddinov, Head of the Uchquduq District Department of Preschool and School Education, also provided detailed information on the priority tasks for the 2026–2027 academic year.
As noted at the conference, activities for the new academic year will be organised around seven key priorities: improving the quality of preschool education; raising academic performance in general education schools; developing teachers’ professional capacity; supporting gifted students; ensuring school attendance and children’s safety; strengthening the material and technical resources of educational institutions; and promoting openness and transparency in management.
In preschool education, particular attention will be given to preparing children thoroughly for school, implementing the third edition of the national “Ilk Qadam” curriculum, enhancing educators’ professional skills and enrolling children who are not yet covered by preschool education services.
In general education schools, the quality of education at each institution will be analysed, and individual action plans will be developed to address identified shortcomings. Students’ knowledge will be assessed through diagnostic evaluations, while individual support will be provided to children who need additional assistance. Improving the effectiveness of teaching mathematics, native language and reading literacy, natural sciences and foreign languages will remain among the key priorities.
Plans also include identifying teachers’ professional development needs, strengthening mentoring traditions, sharing best practices and improving digital literacy. Efforts to prepare students for subject Olympiads and competitions will be intensified. Opportunities to study foreign languages and information technology will be expanded, alongside stronger career guidance and support for graduates preparing to enter higher education institutions.
Special attention will also be paid to improving school attendance, preventing juvenile delinquency, creating a safe learning environment and strengthening cooperation with parents and mahallas (local communities).
Implementation of the planned tasks will be monitored daily, reviewed monthly and assessed for effectiveness every quarter. When evaluating educational institutions, the main criteria will be actual improvements in students’ knowledge, the quality of education and practical outcomes, rather than the number of events held or reporting indicators.
In conclusion, the priorities established for the new academic year in Uchquduq District are centred on one essential goal: providing every child with a quality education, enabling every teacher to realise their potential and achieving tangible results throughout the education system. The opportunities created in schools and the knowledge gained today will help nurture an educated, proactive and competitive generation for tomorrow.
