District info
The Turtkul District was formed on July 3, 1927. The district borders Ellikkala District to the north, Navoi Region to the east, and Khorezm Region to the south and west.
Area 7.48 thousand sq. km. The district has 1 city (To'rtko'l city, district-level), 34 mahallas (Do'stlik, Yoshlik, Jayhun, Navro'z, Istiqlol, Anhorli, Yangihayot, Ziyokor, Yashnobod, Bahor, Shodlik, Beruniy, Mash'al, Bazirgan, Yaxtilik, Turkmanko'li, Mustaqillik, Guliston, Yangiobod, Ibn Sino, Navoiy, Bog'yop, Miskin, Tozabo'zyop, Nurota, Turkiston, To'rtko'l, Markazobod, O'zbekiston, Tinchlik, G'alaba, Toshkent, Nurliyo'l, Nurli Ullibog'), and 15 rural communities (Ko'na To'rtko'l, Sho'raxon, Paxtachi, Yonboshqal'a, Paxtaobod, Kaltaminor, Otauba, O'zbekiston, Oqqamish, Oqboshli, Otayurt, Ko'kcha, Ullibog', Qumboskan, Tozabog'yop). Its center is the city of Turtkul.
As of January 1, 2024, the population of the district was 228.8 thousand people. Of these, 85.6 thousand people live in cities, 143.2 thousand - in rural areas.
