Sharaf-Rashidov District (formerly Jizzakh District) - a district in Jizzakh Region. Founded on September 29, 1926. The area is 1.44 thousand km2. Population - 247.3 thousand people (2025).
It borders the Farish, Zafarabad, and Pakhtakor districts of the region to the north, the Gallaorol district to the west, the Zarbdor and Zomin districts to the east, and the Bakhmal district to the south.
In the Sharaf-Rashidov district, there are 48 citizens' assemblies (Kakhramon, Istiklol, Kushkuprik, Tashkentlik, Mulkanlik, Katortol, Buston, Saroylik, Taraqqiyot, Yakhtanlik, Eski Tashkentlik, Kulpisar, Sugduyona, Kuyovboshi, Yangi diyor, Khalkabad, Olmachi, Gozgontepa, Pastki Sulakli, Kangli, Nurafshon, Yoyilma, Tokchilik, Ravalik, Yakka Kayragoch, Uchtepa, Ziyokor, Khavastlik, Jizzakhlik, Sovungarlik, Madaniyat, Karayantoq, Oktoshota, Tuyokli, Fayziobod, Babur, Khayrobod, Katta kishlok, Sharilloq, Yoshlik, Kurpasoy, Samarkandkuduk, Umar, Nonisangil, Ravot, Tinchlik, Yangiobod, Yangikhayot). The center is the city of Uchtepa.
Nature
The relief of the Sharaf-Rashidov district consists of lowlands, hills, and mountains. The Qo'ytosh mountain range is located in the west, and the Molguzar mountain range in the south. Minerals include tungsten, limestone, and others. The climate is sharply continental. The average temperature in July is 28-30°, in January - from -2 to -4°, with an average annual precipitation of 425 mm. The vegetation period is 210-215 days. Gray and light gray soils are predominantly distributed. The district is irrigated from the Zarafshan River by the Sangzor River and the Tuyatortar Canal. Ravotsoy and several small streams flow through the Sharaf-Rashidov district.
Population
The population is mainly Uzbek; there are also Kazakhs, Iranians, Tajiks, Roma, Kyrgyz, Russians, and others. The average population density is 5,000 people per square kilometer.
