The 21st meeting of heads of security bodies and intelligence services of the CIS member states is being held in Samarkand.
The event, which is being held for the first time in our country, is attended by heads of security bodies and intelligence services of Azerbaijan, Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan. First, the address of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoev to the participants of the meeting was read out by the Secretary of the Security Council under the President Vladimir Mahmudov. In his address, the Head of our state emphasized that today, in the conditions of the global geopolitical situation in the world, where traditional challenges and threats are intensifying and new ones are emerging, it is more necessary than ever to strengthen the positions of the Commonwealth countries on international and regional security issues. At the event, participants will exchange views on modern risks and threats and discuss current tasks to strengthen cooperation between the intelligence services of the CIS countries. At the end of the meeting, the heads of delegations are expected to identify specific tasks and priority areas of cooperation to ensure regional security.
