Meeting with representatives of the International Finance Corporation (IFC) was held

The Uzbek side was represented by Deputy Ministers of Economy and Finance Bobur Khodjayev and Otabek Fozilkarimov, Deputy Minister of Health Farkhodjon Tashpulatov, Deputy Minister of Pre-school and School Education Temurjon Komilov and other officials. The foreign side was represented by Shabana Khawar, Regional Head of Operations for Turkey and Central Asia, Neil McKain, IFC Country Manager for Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan, and other IFC representatives.

During the meeting, the sides noted achievements and realised projects in economic and social spheres, implemented within the framework of Uzbekistan's partnership with the International Finance Corporation in 2023. Projects planned to be implemented in 2024 were also considered, the priority of which are projects in the field of healthcare and water supply in the regions.

Special attention was paid to PPP projects in the education sector. Programmes aimed at equipping schools with modern equipment and creating comfortable conditions for children's education were considered.

The meeting underscored the importance of cooperation between Uzbekistan and the International Finance Corporation in the implementation of various projects contributing to the country's development. Both sides expressed readiness to continue co-operation to achieve common goals and sustainable economic growth.
