Meeting held with the President of the Islamic Development Bank

The meeting was attended by Chairman of the Central Bank of the Republic of Uzbekistan Timur Ishmetov, Deputy Minister of Economy and Finance Ilhom Umurzakov, Advisor to the Minister Jasur Karshibayev, as well as other responsible officials. From the Islamic Development Bank, Vice President for Operations Rami Said participated.
The parties highly appreciated the long-standing cooperation between Uzbekistan and the Islamic Development Bank and discussed ongoing projects and prospects for future collaboration. During the conversation, special emphasis was placed on the financial and technical support provided by the Bank for social and infrastructure projects implemented in Uzbekistan.
To enhance economic potential, the proposal to launch joint training programs with the IsDB in areas such as energy, agribusiness, digital economy, and logistics was discussed. Additionally, within the framework of the “Reverse Linkage” program, the parties considered the possibility of learning from the experiences of countries such as Turkey (budget planning), Malaysia, Indonesia, and Morocco (water management reforms), and attracting their experts.
Muhammad Al Jasser gave high praise to the reforms being carried out in Uzbekistan and expressed the IsDB’s readiness to fully support these processes.
At the conclusion of the meeting, both sides reaffirmed their strong commitment to strengthening cooperation based on mutual trust, implementing new joint projects in priority areas, and deepening long-term partnership.
