Views were exchanged with representatives of the Czech Republic's "Škoda Group" company on developing the transport sector

On March 18, 2025, a meeting took place between Petr Novotny, the Chairman of the Executive Board and Chief Executive Officer of the Czech Republic's Škoda Group company, and Jamshid Kuchkarov, the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy and Finance of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

The meeting was attended by Roman Sorkin, Vice President for Sales of Škoda Group, as well as Khurshed Mustafayev, Deputy Minister of Economy and Finance, and other responsible representatives.

For information: Škoda Group is a major engineering company in the Czech Republic, primarily specializing in the production of vehicles and their components. Currently, the Škoda Group comprises enterprises in various sectors, including:

Škoda Transportation: Produces trams, electric locomotives, and other public transportation vehicles.

Škoda Auto: An automobile manufacturer that has been part of the Volkswagen Group since 1991.

During the discussions, the parties examined prospects and areas for cooperation in developing the transport sector, particularly in enhancing railway infrastructure. Specifically:

·       modernization of railway infrastructure and rolling stock;

·       extensive implementation of advanced and energy-efficient technologies;

·       effective utilization of successful international experiences;

·       exchanging expertise in the production of new generation electric trains were emphasized.

At the conclusion of the negotiations, the parties agreed to develop cooperative relations and expand the process of exchanging views on the development of the railway sector.
