The issues of improving tax administration were discussed

The meeting was attended by the representatives of the Ministry, led by Deputy Minister of Economy and Finance Akhadbek Khaydarov, as well as the representatives of the IMF mission, John Middleton, Supriyo De and Modestas Kaseliauskas, led by Vincent de Paul Koukpaizan.
During the meeting, the findings of the final report of Tax Administration Diagnostic Assessment Tool (TADAT), prepared by the July 2023 IMF mission led by Vincent de Paul Koukpaizan were discussed. The recent reforms that implemented in the field of Uzbekistan tax administration system and their results were especially noted.
For information: “TADAT” (Tax Administration Diagnostic Assessment Tool) is a tool designed to provide an objective assessment of the health of key components of a country’s system of tax administration, their strengths and weaknesses, taking into account nine key performance outcome areas based on 32 high-level indicators.
The two sides also exchanged views on the issues of possible attraction of IMF technical assistance to improve Uzbekistan tax policy and administration, particularly, reducing the shadow economy, managing tax risks, managing tax disputes and improving tax systems.
In the end, the sides agreed to organize a meeting for further discussion of the mission’s findings.
