Uzbekistan and Italy: cooperation in education, science and innovation will become more active

At first, Minister Q. Sharipov provided detailed information about the reforms being carried out in the field of higher education, science and innovation, and existing cooperation with Italy. It was also noted that more attention is being paid to expanding bilateral cooperation with Italy in this area, developing more technical and engineering disciplines, and cooperation in training personnel in these areas.
In turn, Ambassador Piergabriele Papadia de Bottini noted that relations between Uzbekistan and Italy are close and active, and that the main and important areas of cooperation for the two countries are education and science.
During the conversation, proposals were made to invite Italian professors and teachers to the republic's universities not only to teach the Italian language, but also to give lectures in various fields and areas of education, conduct master classes, and exchange experiences, as well as to send talented students studying at the Turin Polytechnic University in Tashkent to Italian factories for internships.
During the discussion, it was noted that the participation of the republic's universities in the European Union's Erasmus +, Horizon and other programs, as well as the implementation of joint projects in the field of education and science, is of particular importance.
Also, in order to better familiarize themselves with the opportunities for education in Italy and its culture, agreements were reached between the parties on jointly holding events such as "Italian Education Days" and "Italian Open Days" for youth and students in Uzbekistan.
