These sectors play a crucial role in ensuring food security and the availability of food products. Thanks to the favorable conditions created in recent years and the implementation of various projects, productivity levels have been steadily increasing. To sustain and accelerate this growth, the goal for this year is to increase poultry meat production to 1 million tons and egg production to 10.5 billion units. Additionally, exports are expected to double, reaching $180 million. 

In the livestock sector, 1,350 new projects are planned, with 3.2 million tons of meat and over 13 million tons of milk expected to be produced, 30 percent of which will be processed industrially. 

The presentation included proposals for achieving these targets. 

In particular, Uzbekistan has begun organizing primary breeding work for meat poultry selection. In collaboration with foreign companies, this experience is also being applied to egg poultry farming.

Successful examples of poultry farming cooperation can be found in Andijan, Namangan, Samarkand, and Khorezm regions. As a result, both the population earns income, and enterprises in the industry operate successfully. 

For instance, the Yetti Khazina enterprise in Kushrabat district provides families with vaccinated poultry, cages, and feed, then later purchases the eggs they produce. 

It was emphasized that similar cooperative projects should be implemented nationwide to boost production and create more jobs. To support this effort, $50 million will be allocated. 

Additionally, instructions were given to financially rehabilitate and improve poultry enterprises that have temporarily ceased operations or are running at reduced capacity. 

Pastures are another important source of livelihood, but nearly half of them remain unused. The main challenges include undeveloped seed production for pasture crops, insufficient water sources and wells, and the lack of a digital tracking and leasing system for pastureland.

In this regard, it is proposed to transfer the management of pastures to the Committee for Veterinary and Livestock Development. An electronic map, “E-yaylov”, will be created to include all pasture areas. This map will clearly designate lands allocated for livestock farming, crop cultivation, and geological exploration projects. 

Pasture management enterprises will be established in seven regions with the largest pastures, similar to forest management enterprises, to ensure the preservation and efficient use of these lands. Lands within these enterprises will be leased to the population for 30 years through auctions for livestock farming and the cultivation of pistachio and almond trees. 

The Head of state approved these initiatives and instructed the responsible authorities to take measures to restore degraded pastures, construct additional wells, and develop seed production for pasture plants.

It was noted that this year, a pilot project will be launched to manage the grazing of one million sheep on 500,000 hectares of pastureland. 

The financial support for livestock and poultry enterprises was also addressed at the meeting. Emphasis was placed on the importance of increasing employment opportunities and reducing poverty through the implementation of new projects and cooperative initiatives.
