The event is attended by a delegation of Uzbekistan led by the Head of the Secretariat of the Ministry of Ecology, Environmental Protection and Climate Change Kadamboy Saitov.
"In the recently adopted strategy “Uzbekistan-2030”, a separate section is devoted to the issues and tasks on water resources conservation and environmental protection, in particular, it is planned to bring the level of early warning, reliability of risk forecasts, reliability of agrometeorological forecasts to maximum values," said Kadamboy Saitov."The most effective way to solve these problems is through expanding regional cooperation and joint actions," he added.
It should be noted that during the dialogue, special attention will be paid to early warning systems as a key factor in increasing resilience to climate change in the region.
For reference, early warning systems in the context of climate change are the most important tool for increasing resilience, reducing vulnerability, and minimizing socio-economic consequences of hazardous climate events.
During the event, the initiative "Early Warning for All" by the UN Secretary-General was also highlighted, in which he called for efforts to ensure that every person on Earth has access to early warning systems by 2027.
The dialogue will also focus on regional changes and increasing awareness of climate instability risks.
