A training course was organized with the participation of women scientists on the “Step to Ph.D.” to prepare them for leadership positions, develop science, and improve women’s qualifications. The educational exchange program “Future: Community of Scientific Girls” was launched.
Training courses have been introduced to retrain management personnel and strengthen their qualification potential on issues of human rights and gender equality.
Centers for the rehabilitation and adaptation of women in work collectives organized short-term training workshops on types of violence and their prevention, which covered more than 2 thousand participants.
This was noted at the regular meeting of the Council of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis, dedicated to discussing the implementation in 2023 of the Program of Comprehensive Measures for the Implementation of the Strategy for Achieving Gender Equality in the Republic of Uzbekistan until 2030.
It was noted that in the first half of 2023, relevant work was carried out to implement this program.
Senators critically discussed some shortcomings in ensuring the implementation of the tasks outlined within the Strategy.
It was noted that developing a special program that includes rehabilitation measures to change the behavior of persons who have committed violence has not been completed. Insufficient attention was paid to attracting women candidates from the National Personnel Reserve to the announced competitions for candidates to the supervisory boards of enterprises with state participation.
The Council called on the relevant institutions and organizations to responsibly approach the issues of timely and high-quality implementation of tasks within the framework of the Program of Comprehensive Measures for the performance in 2023 of the Strategy for Achieving Gender Equality in the Republic of Uzbekistan until 2030.
