Representatives of the Government Delegation of the Republic of Uzbekistan participated in Hamburg Sustainability Conference in Germany

This conference serves as a unifying platform for leading experts, representatives of government, science and business, civil society and international organizations to develop solutions to modern problems. The event will bring together about 1,600 participants from more than 100 countries. The goal of the conference is to develop specific initiatives to accelerate the implementation of the UN Sustainable Development Goals agreed upon by all countries of the world until 2030.
Within the framework of the conference, a meeting was held between the member of the Executive Board of the KfW Development Bank Ms. Christiane Laibach and the Deputy Prime Minister – Minister of Economy and Finance of the Republic of Uzbekistan Jamshid Kuchkarov.
The meeting was attended by member of the Executive Board of the KfW Development Bank Stephan Opitz, director of the Institute for Macroeconomic and Regional Studies Umid Obidkhodjaev and other responsible representatives.
For information: The KfW Development Bank has been supporting the German Federal Government in achieving its development policy goals and international development cooperation for over 60 years. As an experienced bank, KfW is also considered a development institution and has expertise in financing, development policy, and many years of experience at national and international level.
During the discussion, the parties exchanged views on sustainable economic growth, budget support for coming years, as well as, During the discussion, the parties exchanged views on Uzbek-German financial cooperation, which includes education, employment, healthcare, development of the social protection system, ensuring green growth and improving the energy sector.
Also during the meeting, an agreement was signed between the Government of the Republic of Uzbekistan and KfW development bank on supporting the state budget under the “Social and Green Growth” program.
Following the negotiations, the parties agreed to develop and strengthen mutually beneficial ties and ongoing cooperation in the area of budget support.
