Uzbekistan and ADB discuss prospects for expanding cooperation in Public-Private Partnerships

During the meeting, the parties discussed the current status of public-private partnership (PPP) projects being implemented in Uzbekistan, measures to accelerate their implementation, and opportunities to expand cooperation into new areas.
In particular, the parties reviewed the progress of PPP projects in the education sector, including the expansion of preschool facilities across the regions; the development of healthcare projects; the construction of drinking water supply and wastewater treatment facilities in the regions; and the modernization of district heating systems.
The meeting also placed particular emphasis on the prospects for agreements signed with ADB on PPP cooperation across various sectors.
In addition, the parties considered opportunities to further expand cooperation by accelerating projects aimed at modernizing district heating systems using modern approaches, developing additional PPP projects, and strengthening institutional capacity in the sector with ADB’s expert and advisory support.
At the conclusion of the meeting, the parties expressed their readiness to bring bilateral cooperation to a new level in order to ensure the future effectiveness and efficiency of PPP projects, accelerate their implementation, and consistently strengthen cooperation in priority sectors.
