The parties discussed the current state of economic and financial cooperation between Uzbekistan and India, as well as prospects for its further development. Particular attention was paid to advancing the agreements reached, supporting mutually beneficial initiatives, and developing new areas of cooperation.
The outcomes of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to Uzbekistan in August this year were also welcomed, in particular the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding between the finance ministries of the two countries.
During the meeting, opportunities to draw on India’s advanced experience in the pharmaceutical and medical industries and to further develop cooperation in these areas were considered.
The parties also discussed the development of cooperation in high-tech sectors, particularly semiconductors. Attention was given to effectively utilizing India’s experience and potential in this field, developing technological cooperation in Uzbekistan, and exploring opportunities for cooperation in training qualified specialists.
The parties also emphasized the importance of expanding cooperation in startups and innovative entrepreneurship. They exchanged views on opportunities to strengthen ties between the startup ecosystems of the two countries, support promising innovative projects, and develop new areas of cooperation.
At the conclusion of the meeting, the parties agreed to ensure the practical implementation of the agreements reached, continue dialogue on priority areas of economic and financial cooperation, and jointly advance promising initiatives.
