An exchange of views on PPP projects and privatization processes took place with representatives of the International Finance Corporation

The meeting was attended by IFC Regional Head for Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan Neil McCain, IFC Project Coordinator for Uzbekistan Sajida Tashpulatova, Deputy Ministers of Economy and Finance Jasur Karshibaev and Otabek Fazilkarimov and other responsible representatives.
During the dialogue, the parties exchanged views on cooperation in the area of public-private partnership, in particular on projects implemented in the area of modernization of electric power networks, education, healthcare, transport and water management, and also held discussions on accelerating the implementation of PPP projects in these areas.
In turn, representatives of the International Finance Corporation noted the importance of the Resolution of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan on August 30, 2024 “On measures to develop public-private partnerships in the Republic of Uzbekistan for 2024–2030”, adopted in order to support PPP projects in our country, as well as the fact that this decision was another important step towards bringing the PPP direction to a new level in the future.
During the conversation, the parties also exchanged views on current trends in the field of privatization, including the expansion of privatization processes of SOBs and SOEs, the development of the electric vehicle industry and infrastructure in Uzbekistan.
Following the negotiations, the parties agreed to strengthen and expand mutually beneficial cooperation, as well as to conduct systematic activities and increase efficiency in achieving their goals.
