International Tourism Academy accepts first students

The International Tourism Academy opened on October 20, 2023, during the 25th anniversary session of the UN World Tourism Organization General Assembly in Samarkand.
The Academy functions as a regional hub for the training of qualified personnel in the field of tourism.
The educational process is conducted in English by highly qualified specialists from Swiss hospitality schools.
The International Tourism Academy will retrain a total of 2,740 mid-level specialists over 3 years.
The first academic year will see 220 students enrolled in the Hospitality Management program.
Starting from the second academic year, 1,260 representatives of the field will be trained in each of the three areas.
Refresher courses for 200 students are planned to begin in January 2025.
It should be noted that today graduates of the Academy become highly qualified specialists in popular areas of tourism.
Diplomas and certificates issued by the educational institution are recognized in all states that are members of UN Tourism. Upon completion of the Academy, graduates will be able to gain practical experience through internships at UN Tourism and other international partner companies, as well as work in these organizations.
During the visit to the International University of Tourism and Cultural Heritage “Silk Road,” a formal event took place where the Minister of Ecology and rector of the university, Aziz Abduhakimov, awarded the title of Honorary Professor of the university to Zurab Pololikashvili, the UN Tourism Secretary-General.
