Uzbekistan - France: business dialogue

On July 9, the Uzbekistan–France Roundtable was held in Tashkent with the participation of the Minister of Investments, Industry and Trade of Uzbekistan Laziz Kudratov, Deputy Head of the Presidential Administration Sherzod Ozodzoda, Presidential Adviser on Fuel and Energy Affairs Bekhzod Normatov, and Chairman of the France–Uzbekistan Business Council at MEDEF International Claude Imauven.

The event brought together representatives of government agencies and 17 French companies.

MEDEF International is one of France’s leading business platforms promoting international trade, technological cooperation, and long-term investment partnerships in foreign markets.

During the meeting, it was emphasized that relations between Uzbekistan and France have reached the level of a strategic partnership. In 2025, bilateral trade reached $1.4 billion, while in January–May 2026 it amounted to $775 million (an increase of 150%).

The parties discussed expanding practical cooperation. Ongoing areas of cooperation include EDF’s energy projects worth $2 billion, Orano’s industrial project in the Navoi region valued at $600 million, as well as Voltalia’s solar and wind energy projects totaling $325 million.
