Joint projects discussed with representatives of the Japanese delegation

The meeting was attended by Sakai Mamoru, Head of the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) Office in Uzbekistan; Otabek Fazilkarimov, Deputy Minister of Economy and Finance; Ilkhomjon Umrzakov, Deputy Minister of Health; and other officials.
During the dialogue, the parties discussed expanding cooperation in areas aimed at developing economic, social, and human capital, the effectiveness of existing projects, and the implementation of future joint initiatives.
In particular, the discussions reviewed issues of improving cooperation mechanisms and supporting joint projects in the following areas:
Strengthening cooperation in the field of increasing energy efficiency and the rational use of resources, and introducing innovative solutions in the sector;
Developing joint projects in the agricultural sector, particularly in livestock farming;
Expanding cooperation within the "One Village – One Product" program, specifically by developing local product manufacturing and ensuring employment in rural areas;
Developing cooperation in the healthcare sector, including improving the quality of medical services and implementing modern projects;
Human resource development, training of qualified personnel, and cooperation in education.
Additionally, as part of the meeting, a ceremony was held to exchange notes on two important projects with the participation of the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA).
The first project, the "Enhancing Energy Efficiency in Social Buildings" initiative, involves the introduction of energy-saving equipment and modern technologies in schools and healthcare facilities. The project aims to optimize energy consumption in social infrastructure, ensure the efficient use of resources, and increase overall energy efficiency.
The second project, implemented under the banner of "Increasing Energy Efficiency in Industry," is aimed at supporting enterprises and business entities in investing in energy-saving technologies. Within this project, the allocation of low-interest, long-term loans is planned to finance initiatives aimed at increasing energy efficiency.
At the conclusion of the negotiations, the parties agreed to develop mutual cooperation, expand the process of exchanging views on the aforementioned areas, and work systematically and effectively to achieve the established goals.
