The meeting was attended by Masaoshi Fujimoto, Chairman of Sojitz Corporation; Kamil Yanıkömeroğlu, Chairman of the Board of Ronesans Healthcare; Cem Ozoguz, Chairman of the Board of Ronesans Eurasia; Fusa Koji, Founder and CEO of GVE; as well as Deputy Ministers of Economy and Finance Jasur Karshibayev, Otabek Fazilkarimov, Khurshed Mustafayev, and other responsible representatives.
Background Information: Founded in 1999, JBIC (Japan Bank for International Cooperation) actively promotes the acceleration of Japanese exports and the development of international activities. JBIC's total assets amount to USD 150 billion (as of 2023). To date, 11 projects worth USD 2.6 billion have been implemented in Uzbekistan in cooperation with JBIC.
Sojitz Corporation is one of Japan's largest general trading companies, engaged in a wide range of global businesses including international trade, investment activities, domestic production and sales, service provision, and project planning and coordination both in Japan and abroad.
During the meeting, the parties exchanged views on the extensive economic reforms being carried out in Uzbekistan, sustainable economic growth, the development of a green economy, and the promotion of green growth in all sectors.
The dialogue also addressed issues related to the further development of the energy sector, the formation and implementation of public-private partnership projects in healthcare and energy, the use of renewable energy sources and improvement of energy efficiency, the construction of modern highways and railways, and the application of international experience in these areas.
At the conclusion of the talks, the parties agreed to develop and expand mutually beneficial cooperation.
