Meeting with the IMF Mission Chief for Uzbekistan

The parties discussed matters concerning economic development, capital mobilization, and the enhancement of the business environment. IMF representatives commended the measures implemented in Uzbekistan to maintain macroeconomic stability and manage external risks effectively.

The mission reviewed the progress of trade liberalization, the simplification of business procedures, and the expansion of export infrastructure.

Participants highlighted Uzbekistan’s improving positions in global indices. In the 2026 Index of Economic Freedom published by the Heritage Foundation, the country achieved the region’s highest scores in Investment Freedom and Trade Freedom.

Following the discussions, the IMF reaffirmed its commitment to providing continued expert support for structural reforms within the framework of bilateral cooperation.
