The parties advanced discussions on the phased opening of markets on a reciprocal basis and the expansion of mutual market access for goods from both countries.

The talks followed up on the agreements reached in December last year during the meeting between President Peña and the President of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev. At that time, the two sides outlined a strategic course toward strengthening ties between Latin America and Central Asia in the areas of trade, investment, energy, and food security.

The parties also discussed prospects for cooperation in mineral exploration and development, with a focus on attracting investment and advanced technologies. In addition, they considered further enhancing interaction between relevant government agencies and business communities to facilitate the launch of joint projects and establish a long-term partnership framework.
