Cooperation between Uzbekistan and AIIB, as well as discussion of investments and promising projects

He congratulated her on her appointment and highlighted the symbolic importance of her first visit to Central Asia.
It was emphasized that Uzbekistan remains AIIB’s largest partner in the region, accounting for 51% of the Bank’s operations in Central Asia. Globally, the country ranks 6th in terms of AIIB’s total operational portfolio.
The portfolio of joint projects has exceeded USD 7 billion. In 2024, Samarkand hosted the 6th Annual Meeting of the AIIB Board of Governors.
The parties discussed cooperation priorities through 2030, including the expansion of non-sovereign financing for the private sector, support for public-private partnership (PPP) projects, development of green energy initiatives, and implementation of the “From Poverty to Prosperity” program.
The Minister invited the AIIB President to participate in the Tashkent International Investment Forum, scheduled for June 16–19, 2026.
