The Minister of Investment, Industry and Trade of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Laziz Kudratov, paid a working visit to the State of Kuwait

The visit program included meetings with representatives of the Government of Kuwait, business circles and financial institutions, as well as the Second Meeting of the Uzbek–Kuwaiti Intergovernmental Joint Commission.
Meetings were held with the Minister of Oil and Chairman of Kuwait Petroleum Corporation, Tareq Suleiman Al-Roumi, and the Minister of Commerce and Industry, Khalifa Al-Askar. The discussions focused on cooperation in the oil and gas and petrochemical sectors, logistics and trade, the supply of aviation fuel for Uzbek airlines, expansion of fruit and vegetable exports, as well as mutual recognition of standards and laboratory accreditation.
During the meeting with Dr. Sabih Abdulaziz Al-Muhayzim, Minister of Electricity, Water and Renewable Energy, Acting Minister of Finance, and Acting Minister for Economic Affairs and Investment of the State of Kuwait, the parties discussed prospects for deepening investment cooperation, expanding bilateral trade, and the initiative to establish a GCC–Central Asia Development Fund, along with other areas of mutually beneficial partnership.
Within the framework of the Second Meeting of the Uzbek–Kuwaiti Intergovernmental Joint Commission, both sides reaffirmed their mutual interest in further enhancing practical cooperation and ensuring the effective implementation of the agreements reached.
A key highlight of the visit was participation in the Uzbek–Kuwaiti Business Forum and the “Made in Uzbekistan” exhibition. It was noted that bilateral trade turnover has increased more than fivefold over the past five years. Promising areas of cooperation include the agro-industrial sector, petrochemicals, infrastructure, transport and logistics, as well as digital and financial services.
In addition, meetings were held with Kuwaiti businesses operating in e-commerce, Islamic finance, construction, industry and healthcare. As a result of the visit, a number of bilateral documents were signed, laying a solid foundation for the further deepening of economic partnership.
