New investments will be attracted in the fields of waste management and water treatment

During the meeting, the foreign side was provided with information on large-scale administrative reforms in the Republic of Uzbekistan, including in the fields of ecology and environmental protection.

Representatives of the company were familiarized with the goals and priorities set for the Ministry in accordance with the Resolution of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan dated May 31, 2023, No. RP-171, "On measures for the effective organization of the activities of the Ministry of Ecology, Environmental Protection, and Climate Change".

At the same time, the role of implementing consistent measures to bring the level of services related to household waste up to international standards, significantly increase the level of recycling of waste generated, prevent the accumulation of waste in landfills, minimize negative environmental impacts, implement the principle of "zero waste," and develop a circular economy was noted.

Following the meeting, the parties reached agreements on the development of joint promising concepts for investment projects in the field of hazardous waste management as well as water purification in order to improve the environment and the quality of life of the population.
