Topical issues of the development of international freight transportation by road were discussed

The event, organized by the Ministry of Transport in cooperation with the International Road Transport Union (IRU) and the Association of International Road Carriers of Uzbekistan (AIRCUZ), brought together IRU members and leaders in the field of international road freight transportation, as well as representatives of international organizations, government departments and international financial institutions.
The conference discussed topical issues of ensuring the continuity of the cargo delivery chain between trade and logistics entities, simplifying trade by improving the efficiency of logistics systems, reducing costs and achieving overall economic development.
In particular, the conference was dedicated to the 75th anniversary of the TIR system, the longest-running public-private partnership of the United Nations, which is crucial in facilitating transit and trade, as well as playing an important role in reducing carbon emissions by improving transportation efficiency.
TIR (Transportation of Goods on International Roads) is a system aimed at facilitating the transit of goods within the framework of the Customs Convention on the International Carriage of Goods by Road (Geneva, 1975).
During the panel sessions of the conference, issues of facilitating road transport around the world, the full realization of existing opportunities, deepening the digitalization processes in the industry were discussed, and relevant proposals are planned to be developed.
