In particular, the Ministry of Mining Industry and Geology has been instructed to ensure the reclamation of 2,000 hectares of land disturbed by mining operations in 2024, and to implement environmental control measures in this area.
Appropriate measures have been taken to establish effective control over the organisation and timely implementation of work on the reclamation of lands disturbed by subsoil use and the restoration of their fertility.
As of 15 December 2024, the total area of disturbed lands as a result of mining in the Republic was 4,811.1 hectares, of which 2,034.4 hectares of disturbed lands have been restored to a usable condition.
In the draft of the State Programme for the implementation of the Strategy ‘Uzbekistan - 2030’ in the ‘Year of Environmental Protection and Green Economy’, the Ministry of Mining Industry and Geology should ensure the reclamation of 2,075 hectares of land disturbed as a result of mining, and implement environmental control measures in this area.
