Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Uzbekistan

Yesterday, a cooperation meeting was held at the Ministry of Culture between the Minister’s Advisor on International Relations, Shohrukh Akbarov, and a delegation led by Kim Sangug, Director General of the Asian Culture Center under the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Korea.

During the meeting, discussions were held on organizing "Uzbekistan Culture Days" in Korea and "Korea Culture Days" in Uzbekistan as part of the Uzbekistan-Korea Mutual Exchange Year in 2025.

For reference: As part of the agreements reached during the state visit of the President of the Republic of Korea to Uzbekistan (June 13-15, 2024), Article 38 of the Practical Action Plan ("Roadmap") outlines the task of holding the "Uzbekistan-Korea Mutual Exchange Year."

Additionally, the Korean delegation announced that a special section dedicated to promoting Uzbek culture and traditions is planned to be opened at the Asian Culture Center in September of this year. This section will function as a museum, showcasing Uzbekistan’s customs, traditions, and cultural heritage to visitors.

In response, the Minister’s Advisor expressed gratitude to their Korean colleagues for this initiative and stated that the Ministry of Culture would support the project within its jurisdiction.

For reference: The Director of the Center proposed the creation of the Uzbekistan section and enriching it with exhibits reflecting Uzbekistan's culture and history. It was also noted that 50% of the financial costs for acquiring promotional materials would be covered as part of this project.
