Culture and art are the foundation of civilization, national identity, and spiritual perfection, as well as an important indicator of the development of any state. The progress of these fields, which reflect the spiritual growth, past, present, and future of a nation, requires an approach that aligns with the demands of the time. Therefore, the reforms aimed at developing culture and art in Uzbekistan have acquired profound meaning and are entering a new stage.
The words of our President, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, have become the guiding principle of these processes:
"In today's troubled times, preserving true and humanistic values is becoming increasingly difficult. In such a complex situation, real art, music, and literature, nourished by sacred roots and glorifying humanistic ideas, should emerge as a life-affirming force, bringing peace and kindness to people's hearts and overcoming the boundaries of time and space."
Preserving national art, educating the younger generation through its beauty, and strengthening culture as an integral part of social life are considered essential elements of our country's development.
The development of education in the fields of culture and art is not only crucial for improving the professional training system but also for ensuring the spiritual harmony of society. Modern and innovative teaching methods are being introduced to familiarize young people with the achievements of national and world culture and to instill in them a sense of respect for their history and art. The use of the credit-modular system, the implementation of internationally standardized programs, and the enrichment of specialists with foreign experience are among today's pressing tasks.
Preserving the rich cultural heritage left by our ancestors and passing it on to new generations using modern technologies is vital for maintaining national identity and showcasing it to the world. From this perspective, digitizing cultural heritage sites, expanding scientific research on them, and popularizing them are becoming key areas of international cooperation.
Uzbekistan's national art schools and the "Ustoz-shogird" (Master-Apprentice) tradition play a significant role in ensuring harmony between national and contemporary culture. Necessary measures are being taken to identify and support young talents to secure a bright future for our country's art.
The development of culture and art is reflected in all aspects of social life. Every step taken in this direction contributes to the spiritual growth of our people, respect for national values, and the aspiration to introduce New Uzbekistan to the world.
As globalization accelerates and the lifestyles, traditions, and values of different nations come closer together, the struggle to preserve national identity is also intensifying. In such a context, culture becomes a powerful means of demonstrating the uniqueness of nations.
In the conditions of globalization, national cultures, on the one hand, open up new opportunities on the world stage due to their uniqueness, while on the other hand, they face the challenge of preserving themselves under the pressure of modernity.
Culture is not only the spiritual identity of a nation but also a treasure that can be shared with the global community. Therefore, preserving and developing national culture, promoting it internationally, and popularizing it using modern technologies are of particular importance.
A careful attitude toward the heritage of our ancestors and its integration with contemporary ideas is not only a necessity but also a noble goal. By leveraging the positive aspects of this process, showcasing the unique features of Uzbek culture on the global stage will become a key criterion for national progress.
Ozodbek Nazarbekov,
Minister of Culture of the Republic of Uzbekistan
