«Uzbekistan and Italy – two countries with rich cultures. Italy holds a significant place in the history of world art and civilization, while Uzbekistan has long been a crossroads of ancient civilizations of the East and West. This land is the homeland of great scholars like Al-Khwarizmi, Ibn Sina, Fergani, and stands out for its rich cultural heritage. Looking at the history of our relations, they go back to deep antiquity. Specifically, during the reign of Emperor Tamerlane, our countries established close ties. Today, cultural cooperation between our states has reached a high level. In 2024-2026, Uzbekistan and Italy signed an agreement on cultural cooperation, which continues to develop,» – said Yusufjon Usmanov.
During the meeting, several initiatives were proposed to further strengthen cultural cooperation between the two countries:
First – expanding cooperation between the theaters of the two countries, including the training of technical specialists from Uzbek theaters in Italian theaters.
Second – establishing partnerships between educational institutions in the field of culture, promoting exchange of experience, and organizing student and faculty exchanges.
Third – cooperation in the management of cultural centers.
Fourth – the establishment of a scientific institute under Uzbekistan’s Ministry of Culture for the research and preservation of intangible cultural heritage, collaboration with Italian organizations in this field.
