Student-made film wins at international film festival

Yesterday, the award ceremony for the winners of the 20th International Festival of Amateur and Professional Films, “Young Cinevek”, took place in Krasnodar, Russia.
More than 500 applications were submitted from countries such as Russia, Belarus, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, India, Iran, Egypt, Turkey, China, and others. The works were evaluated across 15 different categories.
The film “Conductor” (The Road to Tashkent), created by the creative team led by director and screenwriter Alisher Karimov, cinematographer Umid Malikov, editor Husan Yusupov, and producer Baxtiyor Salaydinov, won first place in the “Best Feature Film” category.
This film was one of five short films produced in collaboration with the Ministry of Higher Education and Innovations of Uzbekistan and the branch of VGIK in Tashkent. It premiered in Tashkent in June of this year.
